Catch the holiday spirit at the Museum of Wisconsin Art! There are some great exhibits and some holiday activities happening at MOWA—escape the frosty weather and admire the work of some of the state’s most important artists. Here’s a quick look at what’s happening at MOWA.
Enjoy winter break at MOWA! From Dec. 26-30 the studio doors will be open at MOWA for a full week of art making and fun. There will be daily music performances, Winter Creation Stations, an Art Quest Through the Galleries and a New Year Countdown.
Discover unique items for the special people on your gift list, while shopping local. The MOWA Shop sells Wisconsin-made knitwear, hand-painted stones, custom silver jewelry, beautiful pottery and more.
MOWA has some high-quality exhibitions underway:
MOWA Member’s Show: MOWA annually opens the door to all members and invites them to display work. It’s an impressive exhibition and it runs until Jan. 7.
Gerit Grimm’s Fairytales: In A Time Neither Now Nor Then: Experience the enchanting sculptures of master ceramist Gerit Grimm.
Dean Meeker: Myths and Masquerades: This exhibition showcased the work of printmaker Dean Meeker. It presents a collection of larger-than-life characters drawn from literature, history, and mythology.
Ordinary Moments: Ariana Vaeth and Caitlyn Doran: See the work of two up-and-coming painters, Ariana Vaeth and Caitlyn Doran. Vaeth and Doran are both recent graduates of Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design.
