Summer is here, and West Bend is the perfect destination for families that want to beat the heat. West Bend has a mix of indoor and outdoor attractions that are ideal for warm summer days. Put on your flip-flops and grab the sunscreen—here’s a quick guide to cool times in West Bend this summer.

Wet and wild

On warm summer days, West Bend’s Regner Park is a magnet for fun-loving families. The park has a refreshing swimming pond that’s flanked by a soft sand beach and equipped with a water slide and diving board. There’s also a splash pad that’s filled with fun features to amuse the kids.

The art of staying cool

When you’re looking for a break from the outdoors, West Bend’s acclaimed Museum of Wisconsin Art offers a chance to get out of the sun and see the work of some of the state’s brightest artists as well as some intriguing exhibits. One of this summer’s exhibits, Joy Ride: Designing Trek, features extraordinary images and famous bikes produced by one of Wisconsin’s most iconic brands

Frozen delights

There’s arguably no better way to cool off in the summertime than with a cold treat. West Bend has two good bets for frozen custard—Jumbo’s Frozen Custard on South Main Street and Culver’s of West Bend on West Washington Street. Never had frozen custard? You’re in for a treat. It’s like ice cream, but made with eggs in addition to cream and sugar. It has a rich, smooth texture that can’t be beat!
