Winter adventure may be closer than you think. Located just minutes from Milwaukee, West Bend offers great downhill skiing, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, tubing and more. Here’s a sample of what you can do this winter in West Bend.

Tubing

Grab a tube! The world’s largest tubing hill is located a short drive from West Bend. Sunburst Winter Sports Park is a recreation area that’s home to a tubing hill with 45 lanes.

Snowshoeing

The Northern Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest covers 30,000 acres just outside West Bend. Snowshoers can find miles of ungroomed trails to explore in the Greenbush and New Fane snowshoe trails, the Moraine Nature Trail, the Tamarack Nature Trail, the Parnell Trail, the Butler Lake Trail and the Ice Age National Scenic Trail.

Downhill skiing

Ski one of the oldest ski resorts in the Midwest! Little Switzerland is a classic hill that’s open for skiing and snowboarding, with 18 runs and a 200-foot vertical drop. Instructors offer lessons for new skiers and night skiing is available.

Sunburst Winter Sports Park also has 11 ski and snowboard runs on a hill with a 214-foot vertical drop.

Cross-country skiing

Lac Lawrann Conservancy is a 137-acre natural area connected to 35 acres of neighborhood park. The scenic conservancy has 3km of groomed trails and additional ungroomed trails open for skiing and snowshoeing.
