The West Bend Area is home to some outstanding breweries and beer bars. Here’s a closer look at a few places you can go for your next IPA or stout.

Dooley’s on Main

This new downtown bar and grill has great options for lunch and dinner, including specialties like Dooley Sliders (ground beef burgers on a pretzel bun with ale-braised onions, gouda, and bistro sauce) and the Truffle Fontina Mushroom Burger. But Dooley’s also boasts 16 craft beers on tap, all featuring local self-distributed beers from breweries found within a short drive of the restaurant.

Riverside Brewery and Restaurant

A little south of Dooley’s (but also on Main Street downtown), beer lovers will find lots of craft beers to try at Riverside Brewery and Restaurant. The restaurant offers a rotating selection of nine craft beers on tap, from seasonal specialties like Beerbon Porter to staples like Main Street Amber Ale.

228 Taphouse – The Venue

This downtown West Bend bar and grill has 16 rotating craft beers on tap and features live entertainment throughout the year, including comedians, DJs and nationally touring music acts. But it’s also a great place to sit down with a cold one and enjoy a game with the Taphouse’s specialty wings.

The Braising Pan

This popular restaurant, located just north of Regner Park on Main Street, offers traditional favorites with German influences. The menu features schnitzels, sauerbraten, and other classic German dishes, and diners can also enjoy a wide selection of German beers on tap.

King Pin Bowl and Ale House

Throw a few frames and enjoy a cold beer or two at this fun stop on South Main Street. The full-service bar offers a good selection of beers, from IPAs and stouts to sours and fruit beers, and the menu includes pub favorites like nachos, pizza, wings and burgers, as well as a Friday fish fry.
