West Bend is a great winter destination—from outdoor recreation to tasty restaurants, there’s always something to see and do. Here are four sure-fire ways to find fun in West Bend this winter.

Get out and play

When the snow flies, there are plenty of nearby places to take advantage of the winter weather. Explore the 25-mile Eisenbahn State Trail, visit the Glacial Blue Hills Recreation Area or find adventure in the Lac Lawrann Conservancy.

Sunburst Winter Sports Park doesn’t even need Mother Nature’s help—they make their own snow at the world’s largest tubing park in nearby Kewaskum. With more than 45 tubing lanes, Sunburst is the perfect place for a fun family outing; the park also offers snowboarding and downhill skiing.

Another popular skiing area is Little Switzerland, located just 10 miles southwest of West Bend. Little Switzerland is home to 18 downhill runs and three terrain parks, so skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels can find something to explore. Plus, Little Switzerland makes its own snow, so there’s always plenty of white stuff to play in!

Visit the stunning Museum of Wisconsin Art

Did you know that there’s a museum dedicated to Wisconsin’s talented artists right in the heart of West Bend? The Museum of Wisconsin Art, a stunning 32,000-square-foot facility on the banks of the Milwaukee River, houses more than 5,000 works from more than 350 artists.

Discover delightful shopping and dining

Stroll through West bend’s charming, historic downtown to discover gift shops, clothing stores and much more. Locally owned shops and big-name retailers can also be found throughout the community.

If you’re hungry, you’ll find plenty of places to fill up in West Bend, from brewpubs to family restaurants and pretty much anything in between.

Go geocaching

Have you ever gone on a high-tech treasure hunt? Try geocaching, a fun activity where you track down hidden treasures (or “caches”) with the help of your smartphone or GPS device.

West Bend is the Geocaching Capital of the Midwest™, with more than 1,600 caches within 10 miles of downtown just waiting to be discovered. Plus, the caches stay out year-round, so it’s always geocaching season here in West Bend.

After all this winter fun, you’ll need a place to kick back and relax, so be sure to book a stay at one of West Bend’s welcoming hotels, motels and bed & breakfasts.
