Glacial Blue Hills Recreation Area

This native hardwood forest on the northwest side of West Bend is an ideal place for Hiking, Walking & Running, biking and birdwatching. The Ice Age National Scenic Trail passes through the recreation area, so it’s a Hiking, Walking & Running spot with expansive options.

The park also features some of the best mountain biking in the region. The trails offer single-track riding perfect for advanced riders, with plenty of switchbacks, rocks and roots. There’s a bike trailhead with parking on the south side of the system.

The Glacial Blue Hills Recreation Area offers two self-guided orienteering courses. Orienteering is an activity involving navigation with a topographical map and compass. Maps and compasses are available from the West Bend Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department office located at 1115 South Main Street.
