Glacial Blue Hills

Glacial Blue Hills Recreation Area

This native hardwood forest on the northwest side of West Bend is an ideal place for hiking, biking and birdwatching. The Ice Age National Scenic Trail passes through the recreation area, so it’s a hiking spot with expansive options.

The park also features some of the best mountain biking in the region. The trails offer single-track riding perfect for advanced riders, with plenty of switchbacks, rocks and roots. There’s a bike trailhead with parking on the south side of the system.

The Glacial Blue Hills Recreation Area offers two self-guided orienteering courses. Orienteering is an activity involving navigation with a topographical map and compass. Maps and compasses are available from the West Bend Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department office located at 1115 South Main Street.
